No motor? No problem. The flat 2-mile road course is a favorite of the bicycle racing fraternity, with events Monday and Tuesday evenings from May through August. Free to spectators. Also the Short Track Mountain Bike series runs on Mondays in June and July, Fall Cyclocross series in September and October and the Cross Crusade cyclocross event in November.

Monday Night PIR Bicycle Race Series

Monday Night PIR Bike Race Series kicks into high gear (Monday nights, April 11 – August 29) at Portland International Raceway on a flat, closed, car-free circuit. Novices welcome and encouraged; separate categories for all levels of riders from beginning to advanced cyclists. River City Tuesday Night PIR Bicycle Racing Series

Tuesday Night PIR offers a fun, safe environment for new riders and seasoned veterans to come out and race their bikes in a controlled, car free environment. 6:20 pm - Category 4/5 - 6 laps
6:25 pm - Novice - 5 Laps
6:40 pm - Category 1/2/3 - Between 12-28 Laps, 3-5 Hot Spots depending on daylight
6:45 pm - Category 3/4 - Between 10-26 Laps, 2-4 Hot Spots depending on daylight

Short Track Mountain Bike Series

Get ready for the 11th edition of the Portland Short Track Series, Portland's signature summer mountain bike race series for young and old!
The popular series starts on Monday June 6th, and runs for 9 weeks through August 1st (except July 4). Every Monday, from 5 to 8pm, you can race your mountain bike (or cyclocross bike) with hundreds of other racers of all ages and all levels on a fun and varied course on the infield of PIR. There are 4 race heats and 20 categories to choose from and races typically run for 20-30 minutes. Each night, there is also a free race for kids aged 2-9.
