Kenton, home of pir

Portland International Raceway is situated in North Portland, adjacent to the Kenton neighborhood, as well as eight other nearby neighborhoods.

PIR generates an estimated 500 jobs in the area, bringing business to hotels, restaurants, the shops that cater to PIR users (from bicycle racers to car builders), and generates an estimated $35 million a year to the regional economy.

Via the noise variance process, PIR and User Groups make yearly contributions to the North Portland Trust Fund, which provides grants for local activities, from paying for newsletters to the Kenton Tool Library to other community projects.

PIR also supports local artists and is a regular sponsor of the Kenton Concerts in the Park series, as well as working with downtown merchants to increase traffic and business.  Over two-dozen non-profits receive tickets to PIR events for auctions, galas and other fund raisers.

Please take a trip through the growing Kenton downtown and sample one of the shops, restaurants or other merchants. Go here for more information.
